Snowy Day

Today was a snowy day in Cheong-ju. The news said that there was about 8 centimeters (3 inches), but it looks like more than that on the ground.

The last time I saw this much snow in Korea was in 2003 when I was working at Daegu University. I've updated my homepage with a few pictures from that time.

Enjoy!

Hey Michael, welcome back to the BLOG... haven't heard from you in a while. I'll try to keep blogging here at least once a week or so... I'm working on a totally brand new upgraded site for walterforeman.com so keep your eyes peeled.

We still have snow on KNUE campus. The remaining snow seems to tell me to remember all my wishes and memories I’ve had here in this training course. Today, just outside the cafeteria window, I saw a small tree which looked like a snowman. (You’re also a “snow man” in your picture~!) While having breakfast, I recalled a poem, “The Snow Man” written by Wallace Stevens. It’s a little bit “col~d” poem, but I think it’s worth “typing” on your blog. Enjoy!

< The Snow Man >
One must have a mind of winter
To regard the frost and the boughs
Of the pine-trees crusted with snow;
And have been cold a long time
To behold the junipers shagged with ice,
The spruces rough in the distant glitter
Of the January sun; and not to think
Of any misery in the sound of the wind,
In the sound of a few leaves,
Which is the sound of the land
Full of the same wind
That is blowing in the same bare place…

(From Shawna..hohoho..Long time no see!^^)
