I am always amazed at how many people don't know how many people live in Korea.
As we talked about in culture class today, there are about 48 million people in South Korea. My source is the Korea National Statistical Office (http://www.nso.go.kr/eng/).

Often the foreigners know better than local people and have visited more places than them. Many people in Seoul never been up to Mt. Namsan or never been Biwon(Secret Garden for Royal Family) but most of foreigners in Seoul been there. I remember that I memorized seoul population as just six million when I was in a primary school.
Well, from now on I'll try to consider those numbers. Anyway 'I tip my hat to you.'
I think you are right about visitors often knowing more about locals... but I make it a habit to know as much about our world as possible...
